Demo Reel Guidelines
Your demo reel is reviewed by artist supervisors and managers. We've found that the strongest reels follow these guidelines:
- Display your best work. Focus on your strongest efforts and skills.
- Maximum run time should be 3 minutes.
- Avoid repeating images or segments unless you are demonstrating before and after shots.
- Reels must be an URL/Link.
- Check your dub for technical problems before submitting. Check it will play on an average computer as well.
- Present your demo reel professionally -- clearly label it with your contact information
(name, phone number, email address, street address, and job title you are applying for.
- Reels must be accompanied by a cover letter, resume, and a shot breakdown
(explaining briefly what work you are demonstrating, the shots/tasks you handled, and the software used in each shot.
- Resumes should include your work history, production experience, software knowledge, and education.
- Cover letters should give reviewers a quick snapshot of your skills and experiences. State specifically which
software and technical skills are your strengths. "Modelling is my strength" or "I am a character animator with 2 years
experience using Maya" or whatever is most important for us to know.
